Worked as a news reporter for the print and online versions of the Corvallis Gazette-Times & the Albany Democrat-Herald.
I covered public safety and breaking news as well as other local stories. I also monitored the publications' social media accounts. These publications are newspapers that serve the towns of Corvallis, and Albany, Oregon located in the Willamette Valley. The publications are a part of Lee Enterprises.
November 2020 - July 2021
Digital Marketing Content Writer
In November of 2020, I started working as a digital marketing content writer for Dealer Spike.
I brainstormed, researched, wrote and proofread content. I utilized Search Engine Optimization (SEO) . I also analyzed client content metrics and made strategic content decisions as needed.
I communicated and collaborated with client representatives and other writers while adhering to deadlines and quality requirements, including external branding requirements and LeadVenture product standards.

Business Reporting Intern
In June of 2020, I started working as a business reporting intern for the Portland Business Journal. I wrote daily stories as well as a longer story for the print copy each week. I wrote one cover story on local transit.
I covered transportation, finance and more while working under a mentor. The internship was part time and lasted 10 weeks.

Hi and welcome! My name is Maddie Pfeifer, and I am a writer and creator from Portland, OR. I am 25-years-old and a graduate of the University of Portland ('20) where I majored in communication studies and minored in Spanish.
I have been interested in journalism since my sophomore year of high school and have always loved story-telling. I have a passion for writing, and I enjoy creating and crafting messages for a variety of mediums. As a student of communication studies, I am constantly seeking to connect with and understand those around me.
